Research interest :

My basic research interest is to work on the proteins and enzymes. My research goal is to apply advanced techniques and methodology to study the functional and evolutionary role of proteins.  I am also interested in comparative genomics and molecular evolution of proteins by domain shuffling. My research focuses on the mode of action of Bacillus thuringiensis crystal protein toxin, improvement of toxin activity by generating recombinant toxin by molecular evolution. We are applying DNA shuffling and other techniques for generation hybrid toxin. Another goal of my research is to study the diversity of Bacillus thuringiensis in India and their ecological significance. My other research interests are PGPR operative ISR in Pigeon pea,  Isolation and characterization of endophytes from medicinal plants. Cloning and expression of Plasmodium falciparum lactate dehydrogenase and diversity of  pLDH in Indian strains of Plasmodium falciparum
