Research interest :
Biosurfactants and Bioemulsifiers (BS/BE) produced by Bacillus spp.: Ecophysiology and yield enhancement of the BS/BE, their production, purification and Characterization. Application of BS/BE in tertiary oil recovery in the laboratory using sand columns, effect on biofilm formation, degradation and tolerance.
Characterization of methylotrophs, construction of mixed bacterial consortium, metabolic diversity, xenobiotic biodegradation, moving bed biofilm reactor and application of methylotrophs in biotreatment of industrial effluents.
Studies on Biofilm formation and kinetics of denitrification in Paracoccus sp. W1b . Study of the genes involved in the denitrification and their abundance in denitrifying sludge.
Bicontrol of phytopathogen Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora by quorum quenching approach .
Polysaccharide hydrolases: Production and purification of Polysaccharide Hydrolase Enzymes such as Cellulases, Xylanases and Pectinases from microbes. Study the application of enzymes’ mixture for enzymatic hydrolysis of the complex plant polysaccharide material such as Cellulose, Xylan, and Pectin to produce simple fermentable monosaccharides for production of bioethanol.
